Bridges
If you have several missing teeth, a bridge could be used to restore your smile.
Are you looking for an affordable solution to replace a missing tooth? Maybe you have previously looked at removable restorations such as partial dentures. A fixed or permanent restoration could be more convenient. Without question a fixed dental restorations like dental implants are the gold standard for replacing missing teeth, but a more affordable and non-surgical solution is a bridge.
A bridge is a fixed restoration that is secured into place by attaching it to your teeth for support and stability. The reason this type of restoration is called a bridge is that it simply bridges the gap created by one or more missing teeth. The materials used for bridges include porcelain bonded to non-precious or precious metals, or to a zirconium base for a more aesthetic result.
Veneers
Veneers could provide you with a straight, white and Hollywood-looking smile.
Are you unhappy with your smile? Maybe your teeth are stained, chipped or not aligned correctly? Perhaps you would simply like a brand new smile to make you look and feel better? Veneers could provide you with the solution that you have been looking for.
A veneer is a wafer-thin, custom-made piece of material that is designed to cover the surface of your teeth to improve their appearance. Generally, veneers are made from porcelain and can be Porcelain as a material is more resistant to stains and has light-reflecting properties similar to natural teeth.
Crowns
If your tooth has lost it’s protective ‘roof’ then a crown may be required to strengthen it again.
If you have damaged teeth that have been weakened by decay or you have been told that fillings alone are no longer suitable, a crown may be the most suitable treatment. A crown is basically a new ‘roof’ for your tooth. Imagine if your house has become water damaged as a result of a leaking or weak roof. Ideally you will need to replace your house’s protective layer to prevent further damage. It’s exactly the same when it comes to your teeth.
When your tooth has become weakened by decay (as just an example, there are other reasons why you may need a crown) it is important to protect and strengthen the remainder of your tooth by treating it with a crown. To provide you with a long-lasting and discrete crown, we use E-Max crowns.
E-Max crowns are an all-ceramic crown that is long-lasting and looks exactly like your natural teeth. They use a special type of lithium disylicate based ceramic, the thoroughness and durability of which makes it a fantastic material to use for this type of work.
It’s safe to say that as a patient of City Dental Practice you will receive the best possible treatments using the best possible materials. We will be more than happy to discuss all of this with you during a complimentary consultation as we feel it is important for you to understand every possible restorative solution when it comes to your teeth.
