We are the only NHS dental practice in Glynneath and one of the few servicing the Neath Port Talbot area. The surgery has been under new management since April 2012 and has recently been refurbished and modernised.

We have both male and female dentists and a team of highly trained supporting staff in order to provide the best care for our patients. A new service we introduced in 2013 is that of a Clinical Denture Technician who is able to provide custom made dentures direct to our patients.

Crowns

Crowns are recommended when the root of a tooth is still relatively strong and healthy but the top part of it has been broken or damaged or is very decayed and is not strong enough to be filled any more.

This crown is made from a single block of lithium disilicate ceramic. This is a top grade material which has been harvested for its toughness, durability and opaque qualities which makes it a highly prized crown. Plus it is considered a breakthrough in dental crown technology.
Scale & Polish

Scale & Polish

The NHS will provide any clinically necessary treatment needed to keep your mouth, teeth and gums healthy and free of pain. Decisions about which treatment is appropriate will be based on a clinical assessment and clinical judgement.

A scale and polish is a quick cleaning of the teeth carried out by a dentist or therapist. Usually using something called an Ultrasonic, they will clean around the gum line on the back and front of your teeth to remove any plaque and tartar. This treatment usually lasts a few minutes.

Deep Scale:

Although routine cleanings are done to prevent periodontal (gum) disease, deep scaling and root planing is a non-surgical procedure done to treat periodontal disease. This procedure is considered the best treatment for patients with chronic periodontists and usually carried out by a dental therapist.
